To All Benefit Eligible Employees,

The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy is committed to offering comprehensive and affordable benefits to protect your physical, financial and emotional well-being. Every year, we spend months assessing the benefits being offered and the cost of those plans, to determine what, if any, changes we need to make.

As you may know, the cost of health care continually increases — Sometimes subtly and other times dramatically. The reasons for these increases vary from an aging population, expensive but effective medical technology, prescription medications, and network access. These are some of the many challenges we face as we review the benefits offerings each year.

We are pleased to announce that we will not be making any changes to the monthly medical contribution amounts. There will be plan design changes for Kaiser and the Blue Shield HMO & Trio plans for the upcoming Open Enrollment effective July 1st, 2018. The Blue Shield HMO will continue to have two network options; the full HMO Access+ network and the smaller HMO Trio ACO network. The Blue Shield Health Savings plan will be discontinued after June 30th, 2018, but you can continue using previously saved HSA funds. The Conservancy will be introducing a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) that can be used if enrolled in the Blue Shield HMO/Trio or Kaiser HMO plans. For more details attend the All Staff Meeting on May 23, 2018 from 10:30-noon.

The Blue Shield HMO Trio ACO network allows a low monthly cost option for those employees who are already seeing a Trio provider or are open to changing to a Trio provider.

Please review the new Benefit Guide that will be given to you at the health fair for highlights of the benefit plans, specifically for the Blue Shield HMO/Trio and Kaiser options.

Thank you for all of your hard work as a Parks Conservancy employee!

Warm regards,

Todd Blatt
